Juniors and Parents,
We have been able to finalize our programs with Oxbow Glen Golf Course and excited for the 2025 junior golf season. Although we have been able to maintain our previous program costs, we have been asked to have a more limited and smaller groups this season by the club. Therefore our committee has decided to have the following procedure for enrollment for 2025.
CHANGES FOR 2025 JUNIOR GOLF SEASON:
*NEW* LEARN TO GOLF PARENT CADDIES REQUIRED
Juniors 9 and under OR juniors new to golf will REQUIRE a parent caddie for the on course dates until his/her skills and knowledge on course allow the junior to be independent. This usually occurs when a juniors reached Level 3 playing 100 yards holes AND approved by coaches. Parent caddies are required for returning and new juniors. Our coaches will advise when a caddie is not required.
*NEW* PROGRAM FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS:
Future Player and Mentor Program – this program is for High School students that wish to continue learning golf as well as learn to coach juniors. We piloted this program last year with 2 coaches and it went very well. For example, a junior interested in Mondays would assist coaching the Learn to Golf class and then train as a player in the Future Players program. Yes you can gain volunteer hours and gain the experience necessary to be a paid coach in the future.
To be involved, enroll in the Future Players program for the night you wish (Mondays or Tuesdays) and our coaches will reach out to confirm your enrollment
*NEW* GOLF CAMPS REQUIRE JUNIORS TO WALK COURSE:
Reminder each day of our golf camp juniors play 18 holes. We walk the course and juniors must be able to look after his/her equipment often using a pull cart during the round.
HOW WILL ENROLLMENT PROCEED – OPENS FRIDAY APRIL 4th:
From Friday April 4th to the end of Sunday April 6th, enrollment is open to both returning families and new families with the following process to fill programs.
FIRST ACCEPTED – Returning Juniors: with limited spaces this season, returning juniors will be given priority for these 3 days ONLY. As a returning junior, if a program is full, please still use the waitlist as you still may get in.
SECOND ACCEPTED – New Juniors: new juniors can still complete the enrollment process to be on the pending and waitlist. The first juniors to sign up will be given first opportunity to complete enrollment into programs on Monday April 7th.
THIRD ACCPETED – public juniors that will have access to all programs as of Tuesday April 8th.
